Happy March!

Happy almost Springtime my friend!

Hey Reader ,

What are you doing this month? Are you preparing your garden beds, starting seeds, hatching baby chicks?

Whatever it is, I bet you are pretty busy! We all seem to long for spring to come and then before you know it, spring is here and we are scrambling to get everything we want done. One of these days...I will actually start in January with my garden plan! I am only thinking about it now - ha!

But the garden will have to wait again because MOREL season is here!! Woohoo! Okay so I saw a itsy bitty teeny tiny baby morel the other day but STILL it is on. And to be clear, I ACTUALLY did not see it first, my hunting buddie Cindy did. She has the baby eyes - every...single...year!

I am dreaming about morels - stuffed with crabmeat, sauteed in butter and garlic and deep fried - yum. Is your mouth watering yet?

I do have a great video on how to make the Crabmeat Stuffed Morels on the Forager Chick YouTube channel.

I have some classes and events coming up so hopefully I will see YOU at a few. :)

UPCOMING EVENTS

March 14-15 -I will be teaching the Wild Mushroom Safety Certification at Mushroom Mountain in SC. If you want to learn a ton about mushroom identification, field study and become certified to sell wild mushrooms, click the link below.

Mastering the Wild: From Foraging to Flourishing Business March 21-22 9:00am - 4:00pm each day William Harris Homestead Monroe GA

This will be a certificate course, in person. We will go over ethical and sustainable foraging of wild "invasives" and common Weedy plants, no mushrooms because that falls under the Wild Mushroom Safety Certification Course.

I have over 30 plants on the list for the southeast!!

This includes how to turn these raw plants into value added products to sell or you can sell the raw products at markets, in csa baskets or to chefs.

A 2-Day Immersive Workshop for Foragers & Homesteaders

You already grow it. You already harvest it. Now it’s time to turn it into something that lasts—and sells.

Mastering the Wild is a hands-on, in-person workshop designed for foragers, homesteaders, and small-scale growers who want to transform what they harvest from the land into value-added products for market.

Over two full days, you’ll learn how to move from raw abundance to finished goods—ethically, legally, and profitably—without losing the heart of why you started.

Well I THOUGHT I was closing the Forager's Academy enrollment BUT several folks asked if they could still join! So to be truthful with all of you, I DID reopen it. Come join us - the community is growing plus we have our first members walk coming up in a week.

Hi! I'm Anne-Marie the Forager Chick at Bella Vista Farm

Foraging wild food is my passion! To be able to find food and medicine almost every day is an old skill that has been forgotten by many. It is my job to ignite that spark in YOU to get out there and forage too. I teach homesteaders and preppers how to identify wild plants and mushrooms to use for food and medicine.

What Inspires You Each Year? Hey Reader , January is the time for dreaming up new things to do, new goals, ambitions and inspirations. It is a clean slate to try something you have been yearning to do or even to get rid of something you don't want to do anymore. I look at my list of accomplishments from last year and they don't have to be big by any means!! It could be how many total days I hiked or I finally was able to do ____ or something as simple as I got a PR at the gym on a deadlift....
